Meet Draupnir. Named for the Norse ring worn by Odin that multiplied itself. It’s an open-back headphone that “doubles up” intelligently: dual 50 mm glass-diaphragm drivers are summed by an acoustic lens so they present as one coherent source. Developed as a passion project over 1.5+ years with community input, Draupnir is voiced to be fun and engaging, having a solid bass presence with lively upper mids for clarity and includes a baffle bass-boost switch for those times you want extra weight. Built from forged carbon fibre and MJF nylon, the chassis stays light, durable, and designed for long-wear comfort.

Pre-orders starting soon

Draupnir began as a passion project and, over 1.5 years of prototyping with community feedback, became a production headphone. The brief was simple: deliver an engaging, spacious listen with real bass impact in an open-back format—without smothering the drivers in damping.

Acoustic architecture

  • Dual 50 mm glass-diaphragm drivers are used to share the low-frequency workload, preserving punch and headroom that open-backs often lack.

  • A precisely shaped acoustic lens manages phase, constructive/destructive interference, and time alignment so the pair presents as one coherent source.

Bass on demand

A baffle-mounted bass-boost switch adds approximately 6–8 dB in the bass region, with the effect rolling off above ~100 Hz. It’s there for those tracks and moments that call for extra weight, and out of the way when they don’t.

Tuning

Draupnir is voiced to be fun and engaging, not strictly neutral. Expect solid, quick low end, a touch of upper-mid lift to keep vocals and guitars vivid, and an overall balance that aims to sound natural over long sessions

Materials & manufacturing

  • MJF nylon enables the acoustic lens geometry that would be impractical with traditional manufacturing methods. As a bonus, nylon’s inherent damping helps to reduce internal vibrations.

  • Forged carbon fibre is used for the cups and stiff headband elements. Its discontinuous fibre structure offers excellent strength-to-weight and resonance control

  • Woven carbon fibre is used only in the flexible headband elements that set the clamp force, where predictable flex and long-term stability matter.

  • The design targets low mass, high durability, and modular design

Comfort & fit

The headband system is designed for long-wear comfort, distributing load evenly and avoiding hot spots. Clamp is tuned via the woven-carbon headband and remains consistent over time.

The SLS-printed TPU strap balances the load across the head to minimize hot spots; the breathable hole pattern helps heat dissipate.

Pads & modularity

Pads are magnetic and easily swappable, making maintenance and tuning simple. We’ll provide a 3D-printable pad ring so you can adapt other pads if you like to experiment.

Cable & connectivity

Each unit ships with a 6ft Viking Weave Cables “Hel” silver-plated copper cable in your preferred termination. The headphones use a dual 3.5mm plug design.
